Another Cody episode. But wait, the film brakes. Yeah!
The movie opens with…….um. Well I’m not sure what the hell is going on. There’s a group of people in a warehouse watching two guys fight. There’s some guy that is talking to a robot telepathically. There’s another robot with that looks like it has stalagtites hanging from its mouth watching all of this.
Ok, let’s start again.
Neo ( Norris Culf ) is from the waste lands. He comes to “New Terra” to try and recruit some people to confront the “Dark One” who is at the power station and controls New Terra. He gets a robot name Klyton ( J Buzz Von Ornsteiner ) to join him as well as Deeja ( Nadine Hartstein ). A couple of the slave workers go with him as well Deeja’s father, Jorn ( Michael Downend) was taken to the power station to be interrogated. Along the way Nyla ( Jennifer Delora ) and Kia ( Andrew Howarth ), a mute, are recruited into the troop. As the group proceeds they are forced to pass through a tunnel which is infested with……..ah hell they’re just sock puppets.
Sorry. Sorry. Back to the plot.
All this time Valaria ( Angelika Jager ), the Dark One’s enforcer has been watching them through a special crystal. She also has been leading the interrogation of Jorn. Jorn has invented a device that can break the Dark One’s control over the slaves but he refuses to talk. So the Dark One absorbs him. Or something, I’m not really sure.
Neo and his crew reach the power station and work they’re way past many traps. Valaria captures Deeja and brings her to the Dark One but he has tired of Valaria’s incompetence and sends her away. Neo finally kills the Dark One but Jorn is also killed. The slaves are all free and Neo returns to the wastelands.
Norris Culf appeared in three movies. All of them in 1986.
Nadine Hartstein appeared in two movies. Both in 1986.
Andrew Howarth only appeared in this movie.
Angelika Jager appeared in a tv mini-series in 1988 and this movie.
Jennifer Delora became a prominent B movie star through the 1980’s and 90’s. She earned a PhD in Psychology and Hypnotherapy. After losing her hearing, she concentrated her efforts on teaching other deaf actors and working within the deaf community.
Michael Downend is a screenwriter. This was his only acting role.
J Buzz Von Ornsteiner appeared in a bunch of slasher films in the 80’s including “I was a Teenage TV Terroist” and “Slammer Girls.” He then left acting and studied psychology, where received a PhD. He is often referred to as Dr Buzz and makes regular tv appearances.
Alright, this movie is completely stupid but I loved watching it. It is very low budget and for some reason I usually will cut a movie like this some slack. My favorite thing is Valaria’s accent. All I could think of was Lili von Shtup from Blazing Saddles. It was worth watching just for that. Valaria’s costumes are also great.
I give this one a 3 out of 5
